She is fluent in Afrikaans, English and Portuguese, the last of which she learned from her boyfriend, Hermann Nicola, a Brazilian male model. She has been dating him ever since they met in Paris when she was 17. In August 2015, the couple announced their engagement. She is close friends with fellow African and Victoria's Secret Angel Behead Prinsloo.
How do you create perfect beach hair?
When it's wet, tie it in a twisted bun and then undo to reveal wavy hair. Bi Oil is my favorite product from back home in South Africa and I love using it on my hair and body.
What's the best thing about being a model?
Definitely being able to travel to amazing places working in an extremely creative environment, I feel very lucky to be able to work with people from all over the world, everyone has their story and their journey and we're all there to have fun and create art in our own way.
What lessons have you learned from make-up artists backstage at the shows and on shoots?
Pat McGrath taught me all about contouring, which is really big right now. It's also really important to find the right colors and shades for you. What may suit one person may not suit you, so find what works for your face shape and tones.
